Bagdogra Airport (IXB), near Siliguri, roughly 70 km from Darjeeling and 124 km from Gangtok. It is well connected to Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Guwahati and Bengaluru. New Jalpaiguri (NJP) is the nearest major railway station and sits close by.
About 70 km, which takes roughly 3 hours by road through Kurseong and the tea estates. It is a short distance by Himalayan standards but a steep, winding climb, so allow the full three hours rather than planning around the kilometres.

No. Ola and Uber do not operate in Darjeeling. Local taxi operators like ourselves are how people get around, which is worth knowing before you land expecting to open an app.
Indian nationals do not need a permit to enter Sikkim, but Tsomgo Lake, Nathu La and all of North Sikkim are protected areas and need one. Foreign nationals need an Inner Line Permit to enter Sikkim at all. We arrange every permit on our routes — send a photo ID and passport-size photo at least two days ahead.

Tsomgo Lake is 3,753 m and Yumthang 3,564 m — high enough to feel. Take the first hour slowly, drink more water than you think you need, and tell your driver if you feel unwell. The rest of the routes sit between 1,250 m and 2,700 m.
Yes. A single transfer from Bagdogra or NJP, a day of sightseeing, or a point-to-point drop are all fine — the multi-day packages are just the most common request.
